Lee Scratch Perry:
performs “Super Ape”
The 40th Anniversary Irish Tour.
He’s known as “The Godfather of Reggae” or “The Creator of Dub” amongst other things. He’s worked with everyone from Bob Marley to Max Romeo, received Grammy nominations and was nominated by Rolling Stone in their top 100 artists of all time.
It was in 1976 that he produced the seminal “SUPER APE” dub album with his studio band The Upsetters. He’s coming back to Ireland with his full live band to perform “Super Ape” in it’s entirety in celebration of the fact that the album is 40 years old. Incidentally it’s his 80th birthday in March.
